Third Genders On The Eye of the Society

by wecantalk

Theme: Gay or lesbian in society today.

“No matter gay straight or bi/ lesbian, transgendered life/ I’m on the right track, baby, I was born to survive.”

– Lady Gaga

And so Glee got criticism again for the gay episode featuring the song ‘Born This Way’ by Lady Gaga as their finale song. Despite the fact that Glee is made for different people to express their feelings through music – and that, of course, means that all genders can be inserted in the show, Dan Gainor said, “This is clearly Ryan Murphy’s vision of what growing up should be, not most of America’s.” Gainor also added that McKinley high school is the least school parents want their teens to attend. Or does he mean like ‘Glee’ is the least show parents want to watch for their teens?

Some people hate gays or lesbians even though they are not doing anything hateful. There are people who don’t want these third sexes to be co-workers and others can’t stay with them a long time. Well it can be dependent in the experience if they act so. It is written in the bible that God made women for men and vice versa. Period. In fact, some churches, especially the Catholic Church, do not allow or encourage this type of relationship. This can also be the reason why some people or group of people do not tolerate the gayness of media especially on television where the world can see.

It is a long time already when gays and lesbians have to keep their true genders secretly because the society might not welcome them or their families can act violently. But today is different. They pursue their genders no matter what the society will say. This attitude is strengthened by singers like Lady Gaga, who inspires every gender with her song ‘Born This Way’ which has uplifting lyrics, and Adam Lambert, who is publicly announced as gay and continues to portray it in his music. Although not 100% accepted by the society, gays and lesbians have been very productive and helpful with our world. They are contributing their talents with the society who continuously criticizes them.

In the end, gender is a personal choice and not birth-based, unlike sex. It is base on the society a person grew up to. And while other people still cannot connect to the respect we should give to them, gays and lesbians will continue to populate no matter what. But also, we should keep in mind that when we went to our resting place, God is still the One to judge us.
